Why would they prefer the old man,?  If only mankind could see the stark contrast between the old man and the new man, they'd see the new man is better

Don’t they realize that it is only as they walk in truth their inward man is renewed day by day?

Paul wrote it down for them, Son

The Son

My blood for the new testament, it was shed for so many Father

The Father

Yes, Son for so many, and if any man be found in You, they are a new creature

The Son

Yes, Father and old things are passed away and all things are become new and all things of God,, but they must put on the new man, for it is the new man that is renewed in knowledge after our image

Yes Son and not by works of righteousness which they do, but according to mercy We save them, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost

The very reason I was made mediator of the new testament.  I died for them that they might live unto us, that the called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance

Yes, by a new and living way, which was consecrated for them, through the veil, that is to say, Your flesh, Son.  If only they would really see how much I love them so

If they would just loose their lives, they'd find them Father, but so many of them try to  hold on to their old lives, and so many of them try to live life by their own power, by their own will, that will never, ever lead them to their true destinies

God the Father

We’ve sent them the Holy Spirit to help them do that

Yes Father, and my blood, it speaks much better things than that of Abel's

Yes, The Word of the covenant speaks much better things than that of Abel's

The apostles wrote it down for them, that as newborn babes, they must desire the sincere milk of the word, that they may grow thereby, but many of them do not drink as they should

This is true, many do not drink in the truth.  You gave them the new commandment too

Yes that they should love one another as I have love them

The Father

You did teach them how to pray....lead us not into temptation, deliver us from evil.

The Son

Yes I did, but many do not pray daily

The Father

You also told them if they would come after You, they would have to deny themselves, take up their cross daily, and follow You

The Son

Yes, but so many of them do the opposite, they crucify the new man daily and let the old man live

The Father

You provided the way for them Son, they just need to look to you more and to themselves less.  Look Son, behold the epitome of the old man and the new man.  If they could just hear the stark contrast between the two, it would help them see that the power to overcome all things is found in relying on us three

I can't seem to be like you, why is that?

Only in Christ can we put off the old man with his deeds, and put on the new man with his deeds

How can I do that, the law of sin and death seems to have so much power over me. I can’t seem to shake it

New Man

You can’t shake it on your own, that is why Christ came and made all things new for us.  He’s given us a new law to live by.  The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the only thing that frees us from the law of sin and death, and it is the law of love.

The Father

They must rely on our free gift Son....but they do have free will, so to overcome in all things they must yield to our Spirit and pray daily, then every day will be a Happy New Day for them

The Night Before Christmas 2

 

'Twas the night before Christmas 2

And all creation was stirring…..especially the mice

The believing ones had cast all their care

In hopes that Christ would soon be there

All God's children were nestled all snug in His grace

As visions and dreams they inwardly embraced

Then all of a sudden they heard a great sound

The sound of a trump and then light all around

A bright flash of light on the earth did rest

It came from the east and shined to the west

And they knew in that moment, in that very twinkling

That Christ the Lord had come for them

Then as dry leaves before a wild hurricane fly

They began to rise up....mount to the sky

They had believed and were flying to heaven

While the ones that didn’t were still busy asking

Where is the promise of his coming?

For all things continue as from the beginning

In those days, all the world was to be taxed
And the tyrant also wanted to stop Christmas

And the world had gone after him in that

For they listened intently when he demanded

 That they not speak in that Name Christ

But now their hearts were fearful as

They saw terrible things happen

But the wise men hadn’t listened

For on earth they did call on that Name

And  then were called sons and daughters

Their spirits rejoiced in God their Savior

And they presented to Him gifts

Gifts they had been given

Freely they had received

Freely they had given

They had followed the light

To the lowly babe

To the bundle of God's love

The love that led them to others

To the hungry, to the thirsty

To the weary and the worn

The first Christmas, there was no room for Him in the inn.

The second Christmas some had prepared Him room

Room in their hearts

A Home Is No Place, for a tree

The snow has been falling for a while now.  It won’t be long and the search will begin.   I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve been told that, I’m the cream of the crop this year, so it’s been nice knowing you, but I’ve got a feeling my days here on God’s green earth are about to come to an end.

I can’t complain Lord, breathing in that fresh clean air and reaching deep into the rich soil of yours has been great.  I do have a question for you though.  I’ve heard that some of those humans don’t believe in you, what’s up with that?  Do they think that all this just happened, bang and it’s here?

That is inconceivable to me.   Quite inconceivable really to all of us out here that know for a fact that you’re the one that sent the springs into the valleys and those springs run among the hills.  Every animal and all of the birds have enough sense to know that they get their food and water from you, Creator of heaven and earth.  All the birds are constantly singing songs among our branches about how good You are at taking care of them each and every single day.   Can’t those humans hear them singing?

We all have to go some time, at least I’ll get to celebrate the birthday of Your beloved Son, Who You sent to die for those humans, to die upon a tree!  If they would just believe in Him, they would not perish, but have everlasting life.

At least I won’t be chopped down to make room for a shopping mall or something that involves, you know, mammon.

I do hope I get picked by a family that knows the real meaning of Christmas though; a family that will celebrate Jesus.  A family that realizes that the lights they will put on me represents your truth, and that the ornaments they hang on my branches express your amazing grace, and when they open every present underneath me they’ll remember your  gift of life to them.  If a family like that picks me, I will be happy to go.   I want what I do before I leave this earth to glorify you Lord!

Why, here comes a family now.  The little one is running towards me with a big smile on his face. He’s pointing right at me.

 I hope they don’t forget to water me; I’ll last longer. 

They have a piano, that’s always a good sign.  Maybe they will sing about you Lord, like the birds do.  I saw little angel figurines here they’re about to put on me, surely they believe in angels.

Some humans collect angels, but they have no idea what angels do, because they don’t read my word.

 They should definitely read your word.  Some of these humans can live some pretty artificial lives, kind of like those artificial trees, can’t they Lord?  Those fake trees look like the real thing, but they have no life.

 Well, I’m all decorated now.  And I’ve got to say, a lot of things are looking promising.  I have a lot of crocheted crosses and paper angels on my branches, and the mom has headed for the piano.  Now comes the moment of truth.

 That’s where Jesus first slept!  You knew all along they believed on Jesus, didn’t you God?

 It is true, there’s no place like home where those that love You live, but God, there’s really no place like home for a tree like the great outdoors.

 

The Christmas Well

Snowflakes had gathered on the ground and created a winter wonderland for a city with bright lights and loud noises. It was a town that had denied Christmas long, long ago, but they still put up trees and bought one another gifts and visited Santa on that day. They still had fancy feasts and made merry with drink, but two young souls knew there had to be more, and it was the day before ‘Christmas’ and they found themselves by the well…they found themselves by the Christmas Well.

Jane

“Well, there it is.”

Jack

“Yes, there it is.”

Jane

“Should we look down it?”

Jack

“You know that’s forbidden, we really shouldn’t....should we?”

Jane

“Yes, we should......we should see for ourselves."

They both warily walked closer to the well.

Jane

“They say it’s inside the well.”

Jack

“Yea, that’s what they say.”

Jane

“Well, I’m gonna look.”

Jane walked up to the well and peered over the sturdy rock structure, and when she looked back up again,  her face was all aglow.

Jack

“What in the world did you see down there?”

Jane

“I saw churches and carolers and candles down there, and a babe.”

Jack

“A babe?”

Jane

“Yes, a most glorious babe laying in a manger.”

Jack

“What else did you see?”

Jane

“I saw a beautiful story for you, for me, for the whole wide world.”

Jack

“You saw all that in the well? What else did you see?”

Jane

“You have to see for yourself.”

Jack makes his way to the well and looks down.

Jack

“It's so beautiful!  Why in heaven would they want to ban the light of the world....the hope of all men? Why would they want to ban peace on earth and good will to men?”

Jane

“I know, right? It doesn’t make any sense for them to do such a thing.”

Jack

“They didn’t believe and their hearts pushed Him away, I suppose.”

Jane

“But I believe and want Christ put back in Christmas!”

Jack

“So do I, but what can we do, we’re just kids?”

Jane

“We may be just kids, but we can remind them that there really can never be a Christmas without Christ.  Maybe they’ll lisen.”

Jack

“Maybe they will.”
